Built around the concept of renewal, the Songgao store showcases multiple sustainable materials throughout its interior.
Walls in the apparel section are finished with Letu, a building material produced from recycled reservoir sediment. The general merchandise area features sound-absorbing panels made from wood wool cement, while restaurant tables are crafted from reclaimed Taiwan Red Pine and Hemlock salvaged from Dasyueshan Forest.
Low-carbon terrazzo flooring and locally inspired ceramic finishes further strengthen the connection between modern retail design and Taiwan's natural resources.
MUJI New Taipei Yulon City Store
The Yulon City location represents Taiwan's first MUJI store dedicated to promoting domestic timber.
Developed in collaboration with Taiwan's Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, the store incorporates certified locally harvested thinning timber throughout its display systems and interior furnishings. QR code traceability allows visitors to learn about the origin of the wood used throughout the space.
The store also offers exclusive products inspired by Taiwan's forests, including Alishan-themed stationery and educational wooden toys made from native tree species, allowing customers to bring sustainable local materials into their everyday lives.
